Turn inclusion and confidence from fixing problems to a curiosity practice

Katie helps organisations and individuals break echo chambers, navigate disagreement with confidence, and actually enjoy difficult conversations.

Modern workplaces bring together people with different experiences and perspectives. When those differences meet without awareness or understanding, tension can often arrive.

Communication breaks down.

Trust goes out the window.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

My work helps leaders and teams shift their thinking from fixing people to building curiosity… so you can handle complexity safely, and create cultures where difference isn't a threat.

KATIE ALLEN

What brings organisations to me…

Every organisation is different.

But many of the challenges we face today centre on the same thing:

How to work well when people think, feel, and experience things differently.

That might show up as:

  • Teams avoiding difficult conversations

  • Leaders caught between competing loyalties and perspectives

  • Cultures where speaking up feels risky or unsafe

  • Communication that breaks down across difference

  • Unconscious patterns that exclude people without realising

Whether you're navigating neurodiversity, identity conversations, generational difference, or just trying to build teams that can actually talk to each other, the work is the same.

Help people understand their own perspectives.

Question the shortcuts.

Break the echo chambers.

Build a culture that can not only hold complexity, but values it and uses it as an advantage.

Who doesn’t want that?

How Organisations Work With Me…

Speaking & Events

Keynote talks, panel hosting, and facilitated discussions that help you understand why your organisation struggles with difference… and what to do about it.

Whether you're holding a conference, kicking off a leadership event, or bringing your team together, I help people see the patterns that are costing everyone.

Leadership Support & Coaching

For leaders and teams navigating complex situations or wanting to build capability in how they handle difference and difficult conversations.

1:1 coaching, group coaching, or bespoke support depending on what you need.

The goal is always the same: move from uncertainty to confidence.

Stop simply managing difference, start valuing it.

My Approach…

Modern workplaces bring together people with different experiences, identities and perspectives.

Much of the tension organisations experience happens when those different frames of reference meet without understanding.

My work helps you recognise these perspectives and respond deliberately.

Through my ME – US – WE model, participants explore:

ME
The Release This is about your truth. Understanding your own frame of reference. Being honest about what you're afraid of, where you're ordinary and imperfect. This is when real conversations can happen.

US
The Work Recognising the comfort of your in-groups and the perspectives you reinforce with people like you. Breaking echo chambers. Questioning the shortcuts your brain loves.

WE
The Culture When enough people do that work consistently, change happens. Cultures are created that can hold multiple frames, differences, and even disagreements. Safety emerges.

If your organisation is dealing with complex workplace issues and you're not sure where to start, a conversation is often the best place to begin.

Whether you’re planning a workshop, looking for a speaker, or navigating a particularly challenging situation, I’d be happy to talk.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING |

From the very first email Katie has been very approachable and responsive. My colleague and I felt very energised from our initial call and nothing was too much trouble. The proposal was specifically tailored to our needs as a remote company. The session itself was very well received by colleagues and more than one said it was the best session by a long way and Katie was a great presenter. One colleague has already requested part 2! I would not hesitate in using Katie again for a future session and highly recommend her and what she brings to a training session.
— Gail Cunningham, Wifinity

Katie, you made this process an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. You helped us take a HUGE leap forward in our allyship journey. You found an amazing way to tap into our needs and we couldn’t have been more happy with with response and the outcome. Thank you for the kind words and for being a perfect partner for us.

It was clear that you took notes about what we wanted/needed and delivered in the best possible way. I think we really delivered something special to our community today
— Keith Burgess, Prologis

I really, REALLY resonated with the topic. Just hearing Katie talk about how others Self Confidence takes a hit really helped me nail what I’m dealing with and how I can tackle these challenges - and that I’m not alone!

Katie came highly recommended from a fellow HR professional, and it was immediately clear why... She made time to meet with me, asking the relevant questions to be able to share her knowledge and help me start meaningful conversations internally... she joined us on-site and delivered a fantastic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training session to our Management team. From the outset, she tailored the session to ‘us’, ... making sure we asked the right questions as well as looking at the challenges we may face. We came away very happy with the session and it more than met expectations; we asked questions our ourselves we hadn’t thought of and it has helped us to refocus now moving forwards
— Matt Cornaugh, The Moller Institute

Embarking on a coaching programme with Katie was one of the best things I have ever done. From day one Katie made me feel safe and created such a trusted environment, I was emotional! All this happened on the very first hour and a half session with someone I had only met for 30 minutes! ... If you are someone where the overthinking is clouding your strategy and ambition making you feel a bit lost, you need to speak to Katie. I would highly recommend her and you will never look back!
— Nicki Campling, The Oxford Trust

It was an absolutely amazing session, some fantastic takeaways and I’ve already got reignited again on the real change we can make. Thanks for an awe inspiring, insightful and mind blowing in parts session!!

Katie brings real energy to the stage – her authenticity and willingness to share her personal experiences give real context to her subject matter. She brings her audience in, builds trust and creates an open learning experience for all – on subject matters that most avoid due to sensitive content. I would readily listen to Katie again and again ... She is a master of her craft – I can’t recommend her highly enough.
